Research in Australia and in New Zealand has shown that when stress in transport, yarding, handling and slaughter were minimized, beef meat was consistently at the tender end of the scale, regardless of breed. Similar results have been shown for deer and for sheep. So find some stress-free animals and find yourself some TLC meat for your dishes!

  • The Magical Enhancements of Frying Food…So Unhealthy Yet So YUMMY!!
I know there are those out there who hate fried food, but haters aside, isn’t it amazing how frying something makes a world of a difference for certain foods or dishes?! I had these fried katsu pork cutlets, prawns and oysters a few weeks back at Tonkichi Tonkatsu Seafood.
The oysters retained their orgasmic flavors with an added fried touch of batter! I’m really picky about katsu and battered food, so yeah…everything else was a little dry and just okay. Anyway…Here’s the OpenRice.com link for you Open Rice Fan’s in Hong Kong!http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=5182Enjoy my fellow fried foodie fans!

  • Okonomiyaki
A Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning “what you like” or “what you want”, and yaki meaning “grilled” or “cooked.” Okonomiyaki is mainly associated with Kansai  or Hiroshima areas of Japan, but is widely available throughout the country. Toppings and batters tend to vary according to region. [wiki]

  • ALERT ALERT: Pork Katsudon Explosion Overload!
A little something from my kitchen lunchbox!
A katsudon is a popular Japanese dish. What is it? A bowl of rice topped with a deep-fried pork cutlet, egg, and condiments. Variations include sauce katsudon (with Worcestershire sauce), demi katsudon (with demi-glace and often green peas, a specialty of Okayama), shio katsudon (with salt, another Okayama variety), shōyu-dare katsudon (with soy sauce, Niigata style), and miso katsudon (a favorite in Nagoya). Beef and chicken can substitute for the pork.
Oh. My. Yum. Slap Someeeeboddy!!!

I Love it! *Drum Roll*… And here comes the “did you know?” about hamachi… :)
The Japanese amberjack AKA yellowtail, is a fish in the family Carangidae. It is native to the northwest Pacific, from Japan to Hawaii.Yellowtail is also known as hamachi or buri. They are also eaten cooked and are a seasonal favorite in the colder months when the meat has higher fat content.
